🇺🇸 VIA - a platform used to power public mobility systems - raised a $130M Series G round from Pitango Venture Capital, 83North, Ervington Investments, RiverPark Ventures, Shell, and other investors at a $1.8B valuation. This valuation is lower compared to the one of March 2020 - $2.3B - when VIA raised a $200M Series E round.
🇺🇸 FirstElement Fuel - a company that builds and owns a hydrogen refueling network - raised $105M in a Series D funding round from Air Water, MUFG, Nikkiso, and Japan Infrastructure Initiative. US-based hydrogen startups raised a record $630M this year, with FirstElement Fuel raising the second largest round after BayoTech.
🇺🇸 Sama - an ethical AI company that provides data solutions for businesses - raised a $70M Series B round from CDPQ, Salesforce Ventures, First Ascent Ventures, Vistara Capital Partners, and other investors.

🇸🇬 DiviGas - a clean hydrogen production company - raised a $3.6M Seed round led by Energy Revolution Ventures, Mann + Hummel. Singaporean impact startups raised a record $216M in funding this year.
🇺🇸 Axiom Cloud - a software company working on efficient appliances for sustainable cooling - raised a $2.5M round from Momenta Ventures, Leadout Capital, Vela Partners and Lorimer Ventures. In the Urban Tech 2021 report we pointed out how sustainable cooling startups have a significant room for growth and how Efficient appliances and enabling technology startups like Axiom Cloud are underfunded compared to other segments such as Passive Cooling.
🇳🇱 Karma Kebab - a plant-based kebab company - raised a $1M Early VC round from Phase2Earth. Dutch meat substitute startups raised a $60M funding this year.
🇬🇧 Oxwash - a sustainable laundry startup - raised a €590k Seed round via the crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. Other 62 impact startups such as JustPark, Mintos and Heüra raised money via the crowdfunding platform.
🇧🇸 Coral Vita - a company working on restoring the damaged coral reefs - raised an undisclosed round from TeamABC, the Irish VC firm. Coral reefs are crucial for the conservation of the marine environment, we mapped other 13 startups working on this challenge here.
