Bernard Arnault became the richest person in the world this week thanks to a bump in LVMH's stock price. But what about his other interests?
Well, his family office Groupe Arnault joined Netflix's $30M Series D in 1999, and made late-stage investments in Spotify, Airbnb and Slack to name a few. In 2017, Groupe Arnault doubled down, launching Aglaé Ventures with a dedicated €40M early-stage fund to back French startups.
Throw in the fact that since 2016, LVMH and Groupe Arnault have been the "L" in private equity house L Catterton (ClassPass, Cazoo, Better Mortgage), and from Seed to late Secondary, they can now keep it in the family. Groupe Arnault most recent investment? France's newest unicorn, and Aglaé first cheque funded Back Market. 🇫🇷
