Immutable is a layer2 scalability solution using Zk-rollups to lower gas fees and allow instant trades for NFTs on Ethereum. Current companies building on Immutable X include GameStop, TikTok, Opensea, Ember Sword, Illuvium, GreenPark Sports, and Gary Vee (Vee Friends).
๐ฎ๐ณ Debt marketplace CredAvenue became the 20th Indian fintech unicorn raising a $137M Series B led by Insight Partners, B Capital Group, and Dragoneer valuing the startup at $1.3B.
๐บ๐ธ Kin Insurance, a direct-to-consumer home insurtech, raised an $82M Series D led by QED Investors. The funding comes after Kin Insurance and Omnichannel Acquisition Corp, a special purpose acquisition company, agreed to mutually terminate their plan to merge.
๐ฆ๐บ Zeller, the Australian neobank for SMBs, has raised a $73M Series B doubling its valuation to $727M. Zeller grew to over 10,000 Australian business clients in less than 8 months.

๐ฌ๐ญ Ghanaian fintech Dash raised a $32.8M seed to build an accessible, modern, and unified alternative payment network for African consumers. Africa's online payments are mainly carried out through telecom and banks, instead of through cards as in Europe and the US. This brings a lack of interoperability when transacting between different operators. Dashโs playbook is similar to Visa or Mastercard, routing payments through banks and telcos regardless of who issued it.
๐ฌ๐ง Life insurance provider DeadHappy has raised $15M led by existing investors Headline and Octopus Ventures. The startup also raised more than $7M from 1000+ individuals on Seedrs in December. DeadHappy offers more flexible life insurance and removes the taboo surrounding death with their motto "Life insurance to die for".
๐ฆ๐ช UAE-based BNPL provider tabby has raised $54M in an extension round led by Sequoia Capital India and STV. The startup has raised a total of $186M in debt and equity since its launch in 2019. Discover 191 BNPL startups and companies.

๐บ๐ธ ๐บ๐ธ U.S.-based payment solutions provider Shift4 acquired The Giving Block in cash and stock for $54 million, plus a potential earnout of up to $246 million. The Giving Block is an online platform that allows over 1,300 nonprofit organizations and charities to accept crypto donations, as seen in Ukraine.
Shift4 has also acquired Finaxo, a global cross-border payment provider and fully licensed bank, for $575M.
