Nordic tech assemble

The Nordics are known to punch well above their weight in global tech, home to the likes of Supercell, Slush, Spotify, Northvolt, FREYR and Pleo. The Nordic tech ecosystem is now valued at $1.4T, and the region has produced 63 unicorns. Not bad for five countries with a collective population comparable to Florida (33 unicorns).

The Nordics' startup ecosystems also seeming align with the region's broader socially-minded reputations. Last year 41%(!) of all venture capital in region went to Impact startups.

Not to be overlooked, the smallest nation in the bloc - Iceland - recently joined Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in launching their own dedicated startup database. Their burgeoning blue economy industry, and every other corner of their startup ecosystem can now be tracked in real time. 🇮🇸🥳

Top-notch R&D and entrepreneurship meet in Eindhoven

The Brainport Eindhoven region demonstrates an exceptionally high research and development intensity, particularly in semiconductors. This strength in R&D has earned the region recognition globally, as evidenced by its seventh-place ranking in Dealroom's recent Science Hub Index.

We dived into the university's role as a breeding ground for top-notch research and inventions which has led to successful spin-offs and startups.
