This map shows the most valuable private startup in each state. The combined value for all 51 companies is $598B.

There are of course lots of recognisable names in there. California/Texas's SpaceX, New York's Coreweave, and North Carolina's Epic Games to name but three.

But it's interesting to see what else is leading in value terms - like Ohio's Enable Injectables which provide wearable drug delivery systems, and Barnacle Foods, which makes food made from Alaskan-grown kelp - a type of seaweed.
