The gender funding gap is holding firm

The Nordics are known as the world's most equal region - but what does that mean for startup funding? We’ve once again collaborated with Unconventional Ventures to explore funding in the Nordics through the gender lens. Some key findings:

• All-women teams received 2.2% of Nordic startup funding in the last 4 years
• All-women teams raise ¢75 on on the dollar of all-men teams at Seed stage
• In Iceland, 49% of startups have at least one woman co-founder
• Gender diverse VC teams invest in gender diverse founding teams

European agritech is a hive of activity

This week France's Ynsect raised $372M Series C from investors including Iron Man himself Robert Downey Jr, making it the largest agritech round in Europe to date. Overall European agritech funding has now increased 10x in 5 years. 

With 2,100 edible species of insect worldwide and food demand set to increase by up to 70% by 2050, we might all one day become entomophagists (insect eaters). See the 88 insect-focussed startups hoping that's the case.
