🇨🇳 Edge Medical Robotics raised $200M in Series B from Temasek and Sequoia and others. The company transforms smart surgery through new-generation robotic systems and solutions. Early this year, China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) approved Edge Medical’s single-port surgical robot, and it is applying for clinical trial registration.
🇫🇷 Owkin became a unicorn by raising $180M from Sanofi at $1.0B valuation. The Parisian AI startup runs a virtual lab (research platform, and a portfolio of AI models and solutions) where clinicians, pharma companies and academics can access anonymized data sets and models. Sanofi will use Owkin’s technology to find new biomarkers and therapeutic targets, build prognostic models, and predict response to treatment from multimodal patient data.
🇫🇷 Lifen, operating system for healthcare infrastructure, raised $58M. The startup built a document platform that works with several electronic messaging protocols designed for medical records. 🇮🇪 Nuritas raised $45M in Series B. Nuritas’ flagship product is its database of plant-based peptides, which have been discovered through its proprietary AI-powered platform, Peptide Finder.
