🔓 Edtech companies continue to face scrutiny over cyberattacks. Recent attacks on the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Chicago public school system, and Chegg's careless data protection show that the industry has some ground to break in guaranteeing students' and teachers' data protection. - NY Times

🇺🇸 Simplilearn, an upskilling learning platform, raised a $45M Growth Equity round from GSV Ventures, Clal Insurance, DisruptAD.

🇺🇸 buildspace, a learning platform for Web3 developers raised a $10M Early-VC round led by Andreessen Horowitz. 

🇬🇧 Obrizum raised a $11.5M Series A round led by Guinness Ventures with participation from Beaubridge, Juno Capital Partners, Qatar Science & Tech Holdings and Celeres Ventures. 

🇮🇳 Masai School raised a $10M Series B led by Omidyar Network India along with existing investors including India Quotient and Unitus Ventures

🇬🇧 Microlearning platform 5Min raised a $6M Seed round from AlbionVC, Chalfen Ventures, Portfolio Ventures, Blue Lion Global, and Edenred Capital Partners.

🇺🇸 Buildwithin, a platform that helps employers build apprenticeship and workplace training programs, raised a $2.4M Seed round from Dundee Venture CapitalBlack Capital. 

🇮🇹 FABA raised a $3.9M Series A from Oltre Impact and Cdp Venture Capital. 

💡 In partnership with Edtech Italia and Brightetye Ventures we're mapping the Italian Edtech landscape. 

🇺🇸 Career discovery platform WorkTorch raised a $2.2M Seed round led by Tenzing Capital.

🇸🇪 Stockholm-based Sesamy raised a $3.4M, led by GP Bullhound and with participation from Co_Made, Tham Invest, Brofunds, Måns Ulvestam, Karl Rosander and Hållbar.

🇺🇸 People Intelligence startup Nestor raised a $2M Seed round from Eleven Ventures, Underline Ventures, and prominent angel investors from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Global VC funding into Edtech startups totaled $7.6B in the year to September 2022, a pullback on the equivalent point in 2021. Although global VC funding has equally cooled off, early-stage funding maintains signs of resilience.
